Dup.

Dup is the word Saul uses for "Bird."  Or so I thought.  It's coming to my attention that it's the word he uses when he can't say something and wants to hush me up.  Haha.

So this weekend, we made the switch.  Big Boy car seat, y'all.  I was so nervous about it.  Then I found this cute one (Chevron Print!!) so it's okay.  It's a lot cuter with him in it.  See?

He is just getting TOO big.  I can't think about it too long.  He will be two in April.  I'm going to cry.

In other news, it was a nice, slow weekend.  I got to go shopping for Mom-fun things like a car seat and new bedding.  Seriously, I loved it.  But after my fifth and final stop of the day, I realized that I never really liked shopping THAT much.  When you have to go than many places, it doesn't matter whether you have a little one with you or not.  It's tiresome!! Thankfully, I was sans-baby.  Todd and Saul did some father/son bonding so I could face the 32-degree weather (WHAT?!?!) and just get it done.

I also had these videos laying around.  I'm so proud of my talker/singer/signer.  Enjoy!!!

The Post Nobody Will Care About

I love blogs.  I love to read them and look at all the pretty pictures people take.

However, I don't watch videos on people's blogs unless it's something cute like somebody's kid doing something cute.

That being said, I'm posting a video today.

Todd is a football fan; a New Orlean's Saints fan, to be exact.  And because of him,  I have fallen in love with the Saints. Seriously.  Drew Brees, their quarterback, is probably one of the most caring, good-natured, down-to-earth, and genius men out there in modern football culture.  See? I feel like I actually know the guy.

As you may or may not know, in 2009, the Saints won the Super Bowl ... and it was awesome.

Drew lead the team in a pre-game chant that is one of the most well-known chants in the league.  Verizon made a commercial that features the chant.  I see it on TV, and I tell you what, when I watch it, I AM PUMPED!

Seriously, I'm  like jumping around, doing the chant, and I'm yelling to Todd, "YEAH!!! LET'S DO SOME LAUNDRY!!" It gets me so stoked.

So here it is!

So there you go.

LET'S GO!!

It's about time!!

Seriously.  We're praisin' over here!

Last night, SAUL SAID HIS FIRST WORD.

Yes, you read that right.   Yes, he is 16 months old.  No, he's not talking.  It's all right. They say boys tend to take their time.

He says, "Uh-oh!" all.the.time and at the appropriate times, and "Ba-ba" for food,  but that's pretty much it.  On a lucky day, you might catch him say Dada when Todd pulls up from work, but barely any Mama to speak of.

But he's very chatty.  Just not in English.  He makes a million noises with his mouth and imitates animal sounds and all that fun stuff.  He communicates well, actually, just not with words.

Well, like I said, this all changed last night!

HE SAID "HELLO."  How fitting, right? And let me just tell you, it's too adorable to handle.  You may or may not be able to make it out, but I can.  I'm the momma - translator of baby garble.

We don't let him play with cell phones (because we're old people) and so if he gets to handle a phone, it's the cordless (yes, we have one).  So basically, he picks up remotes and other large objects and puts them to his ear like it's a phone.
HOW CUTE IS THAT??!!

I'm so proud of him!

Note: The video is SO not about me, but I'll just apologize for still being in PJs with unwashed hair and no makeup.  Oh well. :) I wanted to catch his little words

Photo Dump

I've been a bad blogger this week, right?  Whew.  I don't even have a good excuse.  Oh well.

Here's a look at what we've been up to lately.

So that's about it.  Taking trips to the church to exercise the dog, gardening, picked our first 2 tomatoes (they're supposed to be yellow), and not much else.

Oh, here's a pretty funny video of Saul dancing on command.

I have other post ideas, but this is all you get today!! :)

For Momma Jules

I'm showing off these videos for Mrs. Julie.

Gar-gee Noise

And the Air Conditioning Thing.  He bumps his head toward the end.  I know it seems cruel, but we don't say anything about little bumps like that unless he's really upset.  This one wasn't THAT bad, but I could tell it hurt, so I turned off the camera and cuddled him.  It's alright, though.  He was fine.

Ten Things Thursday

How about 10 awesome things about this week?

1.  We are unpacked from vacation.  That is so wonderful.  Last vacation we went on, I allowed us to live out of our suitcase until we had worn and washed everything in the bags.  It's true.

2.   This guy.  He's awesome every day.

3.  This guy.  His love makes every day awesome.

4.  I think we might've found our church, reception site, and picked a date for the wedding.  Three decisions down, only 4,283 to go, right?

5.  Saturday is the Firehouse Fish Fry to honor my late Grandpa Joe.  It's going to be so special.  I can't wait to party as he would have us do.  I miss him.

6.  I busted the garden hose today.  That's awesome ... ?

7.  Saul got to watch the ducks swim at the river yesterday. He screamed with excitement.

8.  I have done no real elbow-grease/gut-busting house cleaning this week.  What's awesome about that is that you can't even really tell! Light upkeep is where it's at.

9.  I've got another Rogue Petunia, 2 Sunflowers, a Cosmo, about 8 tomatoes and countless Cayenne Peppers.

10.  Oh, and it looks like we've got a Certified Walker on our hands.

Take 1 didn't go over very well.

Take 2 is much better.

Love it.

No Pain, No Gain.

Remember this post and picture?

Well, after lots of complaining, the warm weather is here to stay! Hard work is beginning to pay off! My garden is doing wonderfully!

I know there will be lots of pictures in this post that no one cares about. It's more for T and I to have to refer back to mid and late summer.

So back to the photograph. Take a look at what's been going on for the last month ...

Yeah, buddy!
I know - not as cute because there's no baby pictured. Unless you want to see ropes of baby snot (graphic, right?), little man is in no condition to be photographed. He's feeling MUCH better, but the little cold is making it's not-so-fabulous exit through his nose. He's still cute to me though!!

Don't worry. There's a video of him at the end to satisfy us all.

In the meantime, here's a look around our jimmy-rigged container garden.

My Sunflowers -- from seed!

Petunias & Pansy ... in a toolbox. We're crafty.

Our 70's County Ranch Petunia Set-Up. (Also pictured, the crap snap dragon and basil)

Dianthus.  Pretty, but not as exciting as I would have liked.  Easy. (Also pictured - My Mint, which is absolutely going psycho.)
On to the Veggies!

This only shows about 2/3 of the garden, but a majority of the fruiting plants.
This right here is my baby.  Would you believe that I started this from SEED?? It's a legit plant now.  I couldn't be more proud of it.

My green & purple green beans.  They are so pretty! It's got a TON of beans on it!

Ugly picture - I know.  This is my cucumber. They sprouted overnight.  Literally.

Sugar Snap Peas. 4 1/2 feet tall already! From seed.

Sweet Basil & Lemon Basil.

The token Gardenia bud beauty shot.

My little begonias.  These started coming up like ... 4 months ago practically. Finally blooming.  I still might give up on them.  They just aren't the prettiest.
And last but not least, I present you with a video of the little man making the most wonderful noise EVER!

The Birthday Post

After an endless 2 week prep-time, Baby S' party was awesome. I have a few pictures, but I'm hoping to get lots emailed to me from family members. Here are some of my favorites. I REALLY wish I had more, but I was so unbelievably busy the whole time, the only pictures I got were when I had 2 seconds to think about actually taking pictures!!

My GORGEOUS Husband & BEAUTIFUL Son

Photo Op where I snagged a moment with the oh-so-popular Birthday Boy

4 Generations. My grandparents, My parents, T & I, and Baby S. Whoa!

Grandpa Joe spending quality time with S, while looking so very handsome with his snazzy sunglasses!

There is no shortage of photos of the smash cake debacle. (Let it be known, I was a nervous wreck with that child's face buried 1/2 inch down into icing, but it is a wonderful story to tell.) As my mom said, "I've never in all my years seen a baby dive into their cake with such gusto." I love it. This kid is somebody. Todd couldn't've been more proud of him.

He is just too cute. I guess he loved it so much just to spite Momma & Daddy for not letting him have sugar too often.

... He loved it so much, here's a video I took after everyone was gone. The high chair wasn't cleaned up right away (can you blame me?!) and this child sniffed it out. Take a look ...

Hopefully, I'll get some more photos of other party happenings. I loved every minute of it. T and I have constantly recounted every moment over the past 3-4 days. I hope more than anything that my little booger enjoyed his first birthday. That's the only first birthday he'll ever have!

Love.
